I was getting ready to change the rear fluid and I wanted to double check - for this the car should be driven a little first to get everything stirred up to get pumped out?
and does the whole car need to be lifted? if so - just high enough for you to get under?
again just wanted to double check everything before getting started -
almost forgot - any thread seal on fill plug? or just clean and re-install?
No real need for a sealant on the fill plug. Clean the threads and use a small amount of anti-seize on the plug threads. Don't over-tighten the plug!!
There is no factory drain plug on the C4 diff case. Some of the Corvette catalogs have self-tapping plugs but you would have to drill a hole and then thread in the plug. Once that is done, you could use a small amount of anti-seize on the plug threads.
Given that there is no specific requirement for changing the gear oil, getting a $5 hand pump from Harbor Freight would be a better deal.

thanks everyone - definitely used the harbor freight pump - probably over tightened the plug - I did not tighten it to the point it would not move - there is still a few turns left - but I feel like I may have snugged it a bit extra -after I realized that I did not want to loosen it - too tight in there for any kind of torque wrench that I have - I think it asks for 10 or 12 ft/lbs?
anti seize would have been smart - I did not think of that
