A lot of people with higher end cars wrap them now. The hood would be the only hard part, but a lot of times the seams are invisible. There is extra wide wrap out there too, not sure if it' wide enough but it exists.
Downside of it is if you have any body imperfections, they'll still be there. Upside is, it's typically pretty nice looking and pretty durable. Not cheap though. For a cheap color job, it's hard to beat plastidip.

Dupli-color now makes a paint that works like a wrap. You spray it like normal paint and then it peals off when you want remove it. It also only lasts about 6 months before it shows signs of wear and you have to remove it. Not sure of the cost but it would be an alternative if you wanted to see how the car looks in a different color. Nice way to experiment before spending $1500 or so for enough paint to actually paint the car.
