Default Need help mentally.

Changed out my headlight actuator gear on my 92, while assembling the headlight back to the hood I dropped a 10mm nut in the front of the car and it disappeared and yes I've been looking for it all day, its gone. Does anyone know where I can get it's replacement. I found a dealer that has the 10mm but its different than the original which means I have to paint it black and the spin washer is smaller than the original.
As usual any help would be appreciated.

I dropped a nut in the same area. I was able to find it after 10 mins of fishing with a bendable pole magnet.

Go to ACE, pay 20 cents for the nut, call it a day. No one will ever see it and see that its not factory and even if someone did, they wouldn't care.

OR, go to a you pull it yard and I'm sure GM used the same nut on ALL their cars from that era.

I had dropped one of the clips for the wire looms when I was changing spark plug wires about a month ago. Drove me nuts. I just finally found it last week when i was cleaning.

I taped a magnet to a long piece of wire and fished around. I found several nuts I guess lost by previous owners.

If you want the OEM part, you can also find them on ebay.

I don't really think I have worked on the car unless I have dropped a nut, bolt, or screw into some crevice. I have been lucky to find most, I just don't want a screw left where a tire can find it.

I lost a 10mm socket in the engine bay once. Looked everywhere, couldn't find it.

My solution was to just to quick start off, and sure enough, it slid right out and was on the ground where the car was. If you can't pull it out, shake it out. lol (yeah, I know..."that's what she said"...)
