Hey guys have an 85 and the oil light right next to the digital read out is on solid red and wont go away. I changed the oil and such and tried resetting the light in many ways and cant figure it out. disconnected the battery and everything. If I am correct it says the light only comes on when the oil reaches over 400 degrees or if the pressure drops below certain points. Everything is running great just want the light to go off any help is appreciated!
If "ALWAYS LIT" I'd be inclined to reach out to Bryan at Batee and ask for diagnostics. In the later FSM it's mentioned when "always lit" replace cluster.
You haven't mentioned the pressure or temperature that you see at "normal" engine temps and I believe I'd ask before I went to the aggravation of replacing the sender that controls the light for pressure.
Oil pressure sender is normally closed & grounds the indicator circuit = light on.
Engine running = oil pressure opens the circuit = light off.
Remove the wire from the oil pressure sender, key on, light off = replace the sender.
Light remains on investigate dash as suggested.

Not exactly an "easy reach" and the light is also TEMP actuated in the scheme of things. I thought it really wise to ask "first".
There might be a very straight forward diagnostic to do the cluster check.
