Front end thud

i have a thud sound coming from my 94 c4, it seems to be coming from passenger side front end, car has a little over 100k on it, I mainly hear it when hitting a bump in the road. I pulled the tire off and shook everything it all seems tight, but rubber boot is torn on upper ball joint , just seeing if anyone had any input, thanks

EDIT: Jack it back up and this time leave the tire on... then check for play at 12,6,9 & 3 O'clock positions.. This will let you know if the wheel bearing is worn out...
