Default Correct vacuum fitting?

Was giving my new to me 95 LT1 a once over under the hood and came across this broken fitting. It's broken in the middle between the 90 from intake manifold and larger fitting.

Question, where do those vacuum lines go? Car has no issues as far as I can tell with exception to the HVAC system occasionally staying on defrost vent.
I'm going to replace the fitting, just curious as to where that line runs to.

cruise control and interior HVAC. If actually broke I will bet the cruise does not work. Dan

might want to check your injector wires. It looks like a mouse chewed on one. Dan

I had the same broken fitting and also had a wire chewed by a mouse in the exact same place. Weird. Dan

How did you repair the wire? cut splice/ solder with shrink tube or?

I have lazy thoughts of brushing on some liquid rubber, but I need someone to talk me out of it.

I know I will get flamed but I butt crimp spliced a new piece of wire on the one chewed up. I was missing copper wire pieces. If all ( or most) of your copper is still there I think the liquid rubber and very careful taping would be fine. Dan

Can you extract the pin from the connector and use heat shrink tube?

Wow thanks guys. I have the same tee fitting broke on my 94 and my cruise quit working.
The CF is a great tool.
Thanks Whaleman!

In theory, yes. However, this 22 year old car might not cooperate with me if I try. Haha

Soldering for the vast majority of electrical applications went the way of the dinosaurs. Even though the actual wire in question here terminates in the connector with a crimp connection, there are those here that won't have any of that "crimp connector nonsense." Most of this pushback comes from the twilight crowd as the younger generation has thinking more in line with the way things are today.

I don't trust the crimp connections. I'm an expert solderer, so maybe that has something to do with it...

I'm an electrical repairman at a General Motors plant. No soldering allowed, we only use GM approved heat shrink crimp/butt connectors.

I've no issues with "crimp" but it certainly is very dependent upon the hardware/device used for the "crimp" and the actual splice/termination type being used.

The same terminal is likely serviced for as many as three wire sizes when we're discussing mid/late 80's and early/late 90's GM.

Here is the valve you need:

You can probably find this at Advance Auto or most other parts places that carry the Dorman line of HELP Parts.

You should be able to get the vacuum check valve at any auto parts store for about $4.

My theory: Not everyone can solder correctly. It's much easier to train most anyone to crimp.
