The pump the OP purchased is the best pump AC Delco makes for the car. The "Professional" is the one I purchased and it is inferior to the other AC Delco offering. I believe it is still better than the typical auto parts store water pump. The one the OP found should be made to factory standards. I'm not positive but I believe it has an extra set of bearings on the input shaft. I listed the part numbers for both pumps in the second post of this thread.

Sure did list the part numbers. I'm quite happy you did. Haha

Right now there is/was a shortage of all kinds of parts for these cars. Getting while the getting is good is a prudent move. The LT1/4 engine platform is just not like the dime a dozen first gen SBC with its mega-part availability.

In my mind, it is just like buying car insurance. You hope you never need it, but it is better than the alternative.
There are guys who i know have five or six new opti on the shelf. The rebuilt ones i dont know if good or bad but i hear a Petris is the best. I ran into a fellow at a corvette car show and he carried a new one in the back of his car for insurance. He bought the car new and the car was a roach. Never had a problem with it and bragged he only changed the filter and never the oil! He said he did the filter twice a year and did top off with Mobile 1

Put a Petris in mine last September. Good so far.
