vacuum to the check valve for the inside AC controls is done through the "pass-through" that includes the ECM harness on earlier cars. It should be quite obvious. If you check the "pass-through" under hood you should find the hose in the harness. Can you put "hands on" to the check valve on your car. You don't mention year so it's difficult to mention more - is your check valve possitioned as the FSM suggests?

I bought a check valve because it doesn't have one right now.
Nothing in the harness. PO stripped all of that out, and I have basically nothing original.
Dont mean to hijack your thread, but would someone be able to direct myself to where I might find a said diagram for a 94 LT1, for HVAC and/or Engine Vaccum line routing?
