The system is turned off. Read the owners manual about this, but it can be turned off so it doesn't lock\unlock constantly when gassing up etc. To turn it on stand next to door (closed, with key out) and hold the door key down for a while, 5 or 10 seconds. You should hear a clackclack sound and now it is on. Read manual to make sure you understand how it works.

The click you hear when pushing the door button for a second is it unlocking the passenger door but not the drivers door. It does that. I'll explain later when I have a real keyboard.

Thanks - I got it to work - Had to hold door button for 2 sec until transmitter recycled and now ok. Not sure why transmitter losses program but now will try to remember all the steps,

The transmitter didn't "lose program", it was turned off, as I said. Now it's turned on.

The "door" button is not used to lock/unlock the doors.
It can be programmed to unlock the passenger door, but it will never lock either door.
That isn't how this system works.
PKE = Passive Keyless Entry
The doors will lock/unlock as needed when you approach/leave the car.
