My reason for buying A/S is not to go to grandma's house in 9" of snow. Just the construction of the car would probably prohibit that (ground clearance mainly). I'm thinking after the roads are clear or just the slight dusting of snow. I don't want to hit a patch of ice or snow and unexpectedly end up a$$ over tea kettle.
I wouldn't drive most cars in 9" of snow. Grandma can wait. Just saying a vette is very driveable with the right tires. I don't do it but plenty here will chime in that they do

It can but why? You can't hit the gas pedal hard and it is difficult to get traction. As has been said, you can sleep with your sister. It might not be a good idea but you can.

Living in OH, the weather is all over the place. it was 25 this morning, and took the '93. As long as it's not wet out, I'll take a corvette, just don't want to clean it all back up if it gets all wet. Have to be careful that the tires don't come loose, but traction control helps. I try to drive it as much as possible, even if it's cold.
Awhile back, it was snowing, Christmas day, and the only car that started (it was 10 degrees in Cleveland) was my 67 coupe. Drove that to the parents house 15 miles away for Christmas. My brothers just shook their heads, it had snowed 6" that morning...
Car had positraction and actually handled well in the snow. I wouldn't have normally done that, but it was Christmas!!

Eh....ground clearance isn't necessarily a deal breaker. If you don't think you can drive a whatever car in the snow...then you can't. If you know you can do it...you can do it.

I bought a new corvette in December 1978. Corvette light beige with brown leather interior. Had 65 miles to get home. They were finishing up the paperwork while a blizzard started to rage. I drove home in a blizzard never having driven a corvette before. Everything went fine. Dan PS: Paid $10,125.00 out the door. Drove the car for 37,000 miles and sold for $11,500.00 to finance a patent I received. Cheapest to drive car I have ever owned.
