Default C4 Option Questions

Greetings. New to the Forum. Just purchased an my first Vette. It's an '86 Coupe from the second owner with 98,500 miles. I have a couple of questions about options on the Build Sticker the owner gave me:

1. Performance Handling Package

2. Radiator Cooling Boost Fan

What are these options exactly. Thanks!!

The Performance Handling Package is RPO Z51 and it has stiffer springs, bigger sway bars, quicker ratio steering gear, 9.5" wheels, radiator boost fan.

Radiator Cooling Boost Fan is a second fan on the radiator. (I think it was one in front added with this option.)

Welcome to the forum.

We all like pictures too. Show us your new '86 and tell us about it.

Iirc, It should be the z51 handling package that consisted of different springs, shocks, quick ratio steering and heavy duty cooling. The boost fan is part of heavy duty cooling, an extra fan in front of the radiator. There should be a RPO sticker either under the center counsel lid or in the storage compartments behind the seats. It will list Z51.

Thanks for the info. Let me ask an exhaust question while I'm at it:

1. Car has the Borla exhaust system that was added on by the dealer. Damn thing is LOUD. Not only because it's Borla but also because of age. I'm going to be adding a "Y" pipe to help with the drone issue. Any suggestions for new quieter mufflers other than stock reproductions? Thanks

I have an 88 that I had a muffler shop redo the exhaust on. Dual pipes with no cats, an X pipe and Walker Quietflow mufflers. Not too loud but has a nice sound IMO. Everything welded so no clamps to loosen up and leak.
