Hi Guys Can anybody tell me the correct direction of the w/pump on my 1984 Corvette. I cant check myself as I am about 2000km away at work and need to order a pump so it will be there when I get home ,3 weeks time)
Thank you
Its a c4 corvette pump, that's the application. It turns counter clockwise. Its not a short pump, its not a long pump, its not a standard serp pump found on trucks. Order one for a 84-91 corvette.

rule of thumb - water pump pulleys running on the inside surface of the belt indicate a standard rotation water pump (grooved side of belt). water pump pulleys running on the outside surface of the belt indicate a reverse rotation water pump (flat or smooth side of belt). reference water pump rotation to that of the crankshaft. i'm assuming the 1984, L83 is the same as my 1985 L98, that is a smooth pulley, so it's a reverse rotation. in an 84, as well as all L98 water pumps, it's reverse rotation as opposed to reverse (engine coolant) flow. with typical first generation small blocks, it's standard flow.
I agree with ex-x-fire - if purchasing a pump, just buy one for a 84-91 corvette. this is something you need not worry about. BTW, I recommend one from flowkooler --
