Practical as they may be, I just couldn't do that to my vette. Even without drills or rivets.

I'll keep on cleaning and polishing. And avoiding gravel roads.

Nothing wrong with them if they work for you, just not my thing.

Yes, I've owned it since 1986. Be careful the picture doesn't show the details. It has 90k miles and I am currently fixing all that ails it. Here is the thread that describes some of the refresh.
