After all the stuff mentioned, take a good look at all the suspention and other rubber. She may need some new. Actually, more than likely. You could buy a complete set and just replace as you go. I've got quite a bit t do on my 94. Especially since it came from Nevada.

Your right leave the tranny filter and fluid alone. While your not under there leave the oil and filter, brake fluid, antifreeze, and gear lube alone too.
BTW later BMWs are a non service transmission. Old GMs require tranny filter and fluid changes.
I also go to a podiatrist for an earache.
