Default 1990 Dash Install

I acquired a 1990 with a large portion of the dash removed. I have the parts diagram from my local dealer and the FSM. The vehicle has factory Bose system, which complicates the installation. The speakers and the amplifier(s) and the pre-amp have been rebuilt and a new head unit was going to be installed. I would like to find someone that took their dash apart and took many pictures. If anyone has any additional diagrams those would be welcomed. The prior owner installed a new heater core so that long-term issue is resolved. It appears that the 1990 and 1991 had very similar dash layouts. The last issue is matching the new head unit with the pre-amp. I was given two sets of possible wiring sets that could be used to match the new head unit but not much information. Before I abandoned the Bose amp and speakers, I would like to try to match the new head unit.

I'm not sure what that means? Can you include a picture?

Event he Bose radios are the same form 91 and 90. Pictures will help, did oyu buy a car with the dash out and now you need to piece it back together?

the major differences from 90-91 are:
- Dash harness
- Air Bag system
- CCM

Default Dash Install

Here is a picture of the mess. I have installed the new carpet in the luggage area and need to complete the carpet in the front. However, I would like to get the dash back together before I finish the carpet. Also would like to get the audio working before I complete the dash reinstall. I hope the picture is attached.

I must have at a minimum 200 pieces that need to be installed, not counting connectors.

The fasteners were drilled out and the passenger side of the basic dash support removed.

Wow. You certainly have a project.

I'm not sure where you would begin, but for me, I'd start with a FSM and put it all back together according to specs THEN I'd worry about your audio after everything is confirmed and working.

If you try to test or modify your current electrical tangle you could really mess (short, melt, etc) something bad. Best to play it safe and putting it back to factory will actually be quicker in the long run.

I agree with Bill, also why did you drill out the fasteners on the passenger side? That is a project, I had a similar one when I put a 1991 dash in an 89

It was, but I proved to several people that it could be done. Drove the car with the new dash for 5 years then sold it for my ZR-1
