Congratulations. What an accomplishment. If I need to make a hole in a firewall to pass a wire through, I bring out the drill. My vetts stay stock for only a couple of days. You have a wonderful car there.

”Callaway Chris” actually presented the certification, he’s a very cool guy and I’m proud we had a chance hang out.

Rob,

Thank you again for bringing the car, as the judging team really enjoyed it, and working with you the past week at the event.

Your car stands tall on its merits and is one which any Callaway enthusiast would be proud to own. It's an awesome car!!

It was a pleasure to meet you and certainly the highlight of my day to present your award.

Congrats, again. Stunning car. Can't help but wonder in what way it was scored off .9%

I just replaced with a new battery, cleaned and removed all the stickers and purchased a replica Delco Freedom label and installed it. I did not install the green dot sticker, I felt that would have been insulting to the judges, I just wanted it to look period correct and the sticker did that, but anyone with knowledge of these cars would know it not the real thing. I fretted over the battery for weeks, I should have had someone check the 3rd brake light, it was the most costly item.

I lost a total of 65 points out of I believe 7,500.

I'm going from memory but I think this is the breakdown:

-15 Third Brake light didn't work
-5 Battery
-5 injectors were not original
-5 missing rubber cup in center console
-5 one tiny 1/8" tear in weather stripping on drivers door
-5 center cap locks were replaced with allen head screws
-5 EGR insulation not original
-5 rusty exhaust manifold bolt
-5 two small chips that were touched up
-10 the other two items I can't recall

This is great....judging in the shade. When I judged at BG we were laying in the grass out in a field and it was about 200 degrees outside

Does that mean you'll now come back and judge again?

I received a call this weekend from a gentleman over in TN that has the original window sticker for the car, cassette and owners manual. He even thinks he has the extra set of keys. His wife’s Father-in-law bought the car from the original owner in Florida. I had a great talk with him, he’s shipping everything to me later this week, can’t wait to see them. The car came with a ton of paperwork regarding ownership even a copy of the original title.

He had posted over on the Callaway Owners Forum, and Corvette Forum members SurfnFun & *89x2 let me know.
