What year is your car? There's 3 style front springs, through '87 and then 2 styles for the '88+. I'm quite sure I have both later style fronts with 20K miles. I would need to check codes. I have 2 rears - one is a 20K match to the front and the other is from a purchase I did of several rears and assorted parts a fellow had for spares for a Hot Rod. It was sold to him as 'new'!! It's certainly pretty!

I would be interested in your monoleaf. Do I need to look up mine on the chart provided jrrifle, I think its a base model.

I put my hands on the earlier one and I'll look for the later one this evening. Your '96 would have what I consider the later. All of the salvage Corvette dealers mention 'same' and sell as that '88+.
There is a difference in the fabrication on each end where it rests on the control arm. The trim height dimensions in the FSM vary for the years involved. I would need someone to understand what they're buying before I shipped. Mine is a FHA correct for '91 and earlier.
This is what I believe to be correct for the later C4 where it rests on the control arm.
'92 and later maybe fabricated like this. Earlier just a large triangular pad. Make a difference?

I'll take a look and let you know. You're right about the listings out there, both new and old they all say '88+
I thought I had a snapshot of them side by side but I can't put my hands on it either. I've got some information on another PC that's currently not available. I'll poke around and look for the later spring this evening. I don't recall selling it.
Found this information a few years ago for spring codes by years.
I believe at some point you need to avoid some of this information and rely on what you know! I know the fabrication of the '88 and later springs changed. I ain't going to send someone a spring that when he removes his and sees the physical difference wonders 'what the he!! is this' and I become the 'bad guy'!!

I believe a three (or four) digit code is stamped into each spring. He should check his springs and try and locate the code. Then he can look for replacement springs with the same code. That's how I tracked down the springs I purchased for my 69.

Ok great. No immediate need, but I need to find a set.
Thanks
I've attached pictures of my monospring splintering. Do these need replacing or are they OK?
TIA
Same happened to my spring, she was quite low and one day she broke and air dam hit the bitumen....... undrivable
It may take time but it will snap eventually.........
Went to coilovers after a replacement spring was the wrong ride height, I had a koni coilover break the top of the shaft at the end of the thread. It got me home though. The coilover spring stayed put and kept the front of the car up of the bitumen.
The koni coilovers shaft was 1/2'' so not up to the stresses,
went to QA1 with 5/8 shaft all good now.
The 1996 base had the softest springs. If you are concerned about harsh ride you want a 93 or later springs if you can't find 96 springs when you're ready to change them.
