Don't worry the C5 is starting to get the trailer park trash moniker stuck to it...meanwhile I've been seeing more and more articles in car mags proclaiming the C4 is quickly becoming the car everyone didn't realize they wanted!
Wondering if you could point to one of these articles?
so my neighbor just backed into my Corvette. cracked my hood near the driver side wheel well. scraped my bumper too. already made a claim. waiting for them to call me back.
Damn, that didn’t take long. Good luck with the claim.
so just upgraded the headlights it came with.
LED with some aftermarket housings that allow a custom bulb to be installed. the sealed bulb was not enough light output for me.
LED bulb kit with ballast
aftermarket headlight housing (glass not plastic)
LED Kit installed with dust cover
light diff.
all better
sealed beam light color dates the car
new lights all installed. fogs coming next
PS: mod bug bit me HARD!
Good looking lights!
I'm finishing an article on conversion to LEDs. But, keeping up with all the "me too" suppliers isn't going to be easy for some time (if ever).
Are the Stark lights DOT (type) approved?
Also, there is a module in-line with the headlights. It looks like it might be a built-in LOAD resistor, yes? (To verify it, resistance from the low beam prong (on the connector) to ground will read 25Ω and the high beam prong will read ~6 Ω to ground...that would be a good thing.)
IF in fact it is a LOAD resistor pak, then installing FOG lights will amount to simply a "bulb" change and the fog lights will work w/o further modifications necessary. Otherwise, further modifications will be indicated.
why is it when i flame the C5 all H*** breaks loose?!?!
C4's are GREAT cars...I'm looking into a C5 but with all the stickies they have (about known issues) on their forums its a bit scary...(but I'm still looking)
I jumped over the C5 for the C6 (Z51). A lot of the bugs were worked out from the C5 . But the thing I don't like in the C5's and C6's as most state is the interior. The C4 is still far ahead on that part as you feel your a part of the car. But very happy with my C4's and the C6!
BTW I'm one of the ones that love the Polo Green color. When it's nice and clean like your's is.... That color POPS!

I didn't check ohms or anything like that. mine are simple plug and play. my passenger side fog went out, so i have to remove bulb and return to store I got it from. ill get the part number for you guys soon as I do that. im more worried about the insurance claim at the moment.

my first corvette was a 97 C5. awesome car with typical GM problems (top was peeling, seat rails were broken, AC screen not showing (a couple of love taps brought it back , etc...)
2nd Vette was a 2007 Z06 (what a monster!) I had ZERO issues with it. I loved it but had to let it go when I bought a house haha.
3rd vette is my current C4. love how it feels connected to me when im driving it. like a true race car. sure she squeaks and creaks, but thats a weekend of work away to fix. I just havent had the time to remove dashpad and try and hunt down the squeaks.
all corvette's are good. just gotta decide which fits you best
I nearly fainted at the sight of the first pic, until I realized that tan blur was a reflection, lol! Thought there was a massive chunk of fiberglass gone.

so insurance estimate is $1,633 new bumper cover, hood emblem and hood will be repaired not replaced. 5 days downtime. Gonna have them cut me a check and get entire car repainted

Surely you will add about $3000. to that for a good job eh?

Hey Welcome to the club!
I noticed that you are located in LA, for the damage on your car I have a GREAT shop here in the city that only works on Vettes.. Especially C4s.. 30 years experience in the same place.
We should link up sometime, me and another forum member meet up regularly. You should join us sometime.
**** happens. neighbor didn't see me (hes an older guy, so im not mad )
Loved the way you handled this Being that you just got it,you handled this like a 1st class gentleman
trust me, I withheld my rage but thanks
no use in yelling at the guy or raising my voice. he was nothing but apologetic. soon as he saw me he handed me his insurance card and said do your thing
