Sometimes I feel like I just don't get it. What am I missing? Here is the text on their web site;

**************************************** ***************

"The C4 Registry is a dynamic group of C4 Corvette enthusiasts and owners alike who appreciate the remarkable fourth generation Corvette.

It is our intention to bring the most reliable and current technical and non-technical information regarding the fourth generation 'Vette.

The Official C4 Registry is the most comprehensive C4 Corvette information on the Net. "
**************************************** ***************

So I go to the topics and they have like 6 TOTAL posts!!  :p:

How is this the "most comprehensive C4 Corvette information on the net"??

And you get to pay for this? I just don't get it.

This is just TOO funny  Check out one of the "posts" on the above web site:

**************************************** **************
Even the best looking pain job on a Corvette will look terrible with an old set of faded emblems.
**************************************** **************

Sometimes mine gives me a "pain" job because the suspension is so stiff.

Check calendars quick!! Is this April 1st??? Someone's pulling a joke.

The Official C4 Registry organizes special gatherings of members where you can meet with other C4 owners to share information, ask questions, and have fun!

We do that here for free!

You will have the exclusive ability to ask the experts any question about your C4 Corvette. You may ask technical and not so technical questions to our experts, free of charge.

It's not free, just part of the $50 membership fee.
Who are these experts?

The Official C4 Registry is the most comprehensive C4 Corvette information on the Net.

Says which?

Good Luck with it anyway.

I don't understand why they would want to charge that much money for their registry.

Well if this is the same guy who started the C5 Registry, he's quite a person. I was talking to a C5 registry member(they pay $65/year).

They do quite a few things such as ship their cars to France for Le Mans, and they rent a castle to stay in while they are out there. They have dinners with the likes of Dave Hill,Ron Fellows and other notable Corvette Celebrities.

They get special treatment from GM at certain events, not bad, but I probably still won't join.

Corvette Forum has a great deal of information for all Corvette owners that, like you, we appreciate very much. What the C4 Registry is about is promoting and helping C4 owners. Everything out for Corvettes now is C5 C5 C5. We are the club/group for the C4 owners. Our beginning is in response to a need; one that has been well received and a long time coming.

We have a C4 specialist that we pay to provide technical information to our members. Members have the ability to ask whatever technical question they have and get an answer from a trained professional. We will continue to have areas where C4 Registry members can park and showcase their Corvettes at Corvette shows (like this past weekend at the Eckler's Reunion). For those of you that attended Shark Fest this summer, and saw how it had really nothing to do with Sharks, but all C5s, should greatly appreciate an organization that promotes the C4.

Membership Fee: $50 does include a t-shirt and a membership card, but that is only part of the benefit. Our goal is to provide enough member discounts that it is simply a no-brainer to join. We are offering 2 years for 1 right because we are currently negotiating actively pursuing corporate partnerships. We are negotiating discounts with the major Corvette Parts suppliers and other smaller suppliers as we speak and the process gets easier as membership grows.

Realize that we are a new organization and will be building our technical database as our members have problems with their cars and more information becomes available to us through our mechanics.

We have received a very positive response from almost everyone we have encountered so far. The exception is this thread. Be courteous to an organization that aims to cater to your needs, build a team, website and community; and promote and help all C4's and their owners.

BTW, all members so far own C4's,
As for the two founders:
one owns a 1995 6-Speed Coupe, Dark Red Metallic....

the other is myself.... I currently own a 1996 LT4 Collector Edition Coupe with Torch Red interior, Z51, etc.... My ownership history: LT4, LT1, and L98 Vette's; Auto, 6-speed; Coupe, Convertible; and have done extensive mods/maintenance/etc. to all of my Vettes as well as helped others in maintaining and modding their C4's.

Your post is articulate and well written and tells us the actual state of the organization;"new", "starting", "building", and "negotiating". Maybe what got this thread off on the direction it took was the statements on the web site that make the "desired state" sound like "current state".

If your last post was on the home page, you might have received a different response. I think just being more up front will get you more interest.

Anyway, nice post. Best luck getting this up and running. We do need more representation for the C4 and if you can do everything you are setting out to do $50 will not be an issue. :seeya

I'm sorry folks but $50 is an issue with me............because of a divorce I am so poor I can't even afford a fuel pump relay or an exhaust system....... so a membership to a club will have to wait........ possibly for a loOOOOOng time. I like it here on the forum so I'm staying here.......... and the people here are great and the background is awsome ....... whatever the subject SOMEONE out there knows something about it............ I'll stay here but thatnks for asking :seeya
