Default Rim Protector

On Occasion my bride takes a little spin on my miny C4. This resulted in curb rash on my 335ix and I can't bear that on the C4.

Looking at the various rim ring protectors. They look like junk to me.

Has anybody had any success with them? what brand?

Thanks

No experience with rim-ring protectors since the mid 70's however... if you look at this picture you can see at about the 2 o'clock position that the Goodyear GSD-3 (275-40-17) does actually come with a bead-protector that causes the edge of the rubber to stick out approx 1/4" from the wheel. Also the basic shape of the tire sidewall extends it out beyond the plane of the wheel. My wheels are stock size A-molds 9.5"x 17 with the stock base offset.

Thus depending on the tire you may be able to gain the protection you seek. In 7 years of running these rims (on GSD-3) I've yet to get a single curb scratch.
