Default Soda Blasting NCRS CAR

I have a super mint 100% 95. There are some discoloration marks around the control arms and rear carrier. I was thinking of soda blasting those area. It is not corrosive and non gritty. Any reason not too? (also there is non visible compound that can be applied to the aluminum after blasting to keep corrosion from reforming.

Is touching the existing finish going to reduce points?
Maybe go out looking for and OEM part without the blemish?

Spray on some Eagle 1 Etching Mag wheel cleaner. Let it sit for ~30 seconds, hose off. Same results as above....w/o all the time and elbow grease.

That does work as long as you don't get a drop on your springs. Would result in a low rider.

Springs don't care. I got a drop on mine. Many drops. Didn't phase 'em.

Public service announcement. Never...EVER...get anything acidic on your Corvette Springs. It will eat through them overnight. This includes all degreasers except Simple Green. This is a well known and documented fact. If you have done it and gotten away with it, you have been lucky.

I've seen that in spring ads.

I wonder if it is just preventive, because you never know what chemical someone will try.

I recently used air compressor sprayer with laundry soap, dish soap, and simple green together. Slimy, but ate a lot of gunk off with out having to do much work.

Hope that does not hurt the aftermarket springs.

I usually used sos pads and green pads for some dirty scrubbing.

MY CAR IS FAR FROM A SHOW THOUGH.

Can you produce the document that you're talking about? I've gotten the aluminum brightener on two of my cars' springs with zero issue.

Also...who would leave any kind of acid on their spring "over night"? Why? The product I advocated recommends (as did I), rinsing in about 30 seconds. Overnight?

Bingo. It's the manufacturer doing what they need to do; CYA. Of course they'll recommend that.
