Lines Dont Fit New Evap Core
So I installed a new evap core in my 91 Coupe with manual ac(if that matters). The darn high side line does not fit the new core line fitting. The core is supposed to fit 90-95 cars. I verified the line threads easily onto the old core line. Measured with a basic set of calipers, seems to be 1mm larger in diameter.
Are there different variants of lines or cores for these year cars?
Diameter of new core line.
Old core line fitting.

Difference is R12 Vs 134.

Ok so Im doing some research today, please let me know if Im thinking wrong lol
I'll need a 94 up high side line? The 91 high side line has a charge port/shraeder valve, and 2 switch ports. Im getting that one is for the pressure switch, and one is the fan speed control switch? On the 94 an newer lines, it appears to only have one switch port.
The new evap core I have has a port on it, Im assuming it is a low side fill/gauge valve port. My new accumulator also has a port that looks like a low side fill/gauge port.
Where or what do I do with the switch ports? Im guessing Id need the newer switches for the R134, will they work with the wiring for the old r12 switches. And where would the second switch from the older high side line fit (fan switch?)?

I'd think you return the evap core and get a correct one. I've never seen anyone mix/match Metric spec to earlier SAE spec fittings. The 'notch' in the hex of your evap tells me it's Metric spec and incorrect.
Where did you buy the evap? Brand and part # so that others can avoid!!

I got from ebay lol I know, I know... Im brand new to American cars... I usually sorce most of my parts from Rockauto, but they only had one listed for the ZR1. The seller advertised fitment 1990 and up. The seller agreed to return the core.
I will be sourcing a hopfully correct one soon. Its hot in South Carolina! Gonna concentrate on getting back up and running and streetable. Traded projects with a buddy who got the car with blown head gaskets.
Thanks guys!
