I broke this piece while upgrading my window regulator It sits on the side of the lock cylinder driver side. I've searched every part store, 100's of threads, every google there is and I can't find it. I've called it a lever, pawl, lock pawl....I give up. I have the reg working fine, the interior door handle works but the exterior handle does nothing. HELP PLEASE

A Dorman or anyone else that might be able to change either of these 2 GM #'s could help you OR a GM dealer even. I buy Auveco I believe here local

Later cars I think this was 'red' 16607593 and earlier cars 9815325 - I don't recall early car color number. That's plastic 5/32 rod retainer.

I have the retainer clip, I need the entire "lever". As you can see it is broken off of the latch unit.

It matters not which part # you use for a reference. I struggled with snapshots/images last time. I ain't trying tonight. GOOGLE can be your friend tonight!!

That's actually the outside door handle then. FSM 10-16 FIG 10-22. FSM is your friend also.

I've googled until I'm blue in the face. No matter what I call it I always get either the latch unit that closes around the striker pin or the lower unit on this rod that goes down and is spring returned. Nothing up by the cylinder.

Use the FSM or my link. That rod is to the outside handle. It has nothing to do with the cylinder.

That's why you couldn't get your door open. The outside handle is 'busted'.

BY GOD YOU HAVE DONE IT AGAIN, DAVE THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT IT IS AND THAT'S WHY THE EXTERIOR HANDLE DOES NOTHING. I JUST HAVE TO SHOP AROUND THE FIRST ONE I LOOKED AT WAS NEW OEM FOR $60.00
THANK YOU SO MUCH (AGAIN)

Any chance you'd consider moving to Wisconsin and being my neighbor

I doubt that! The 'Wild and Wonderful WV' seems to agree with me

You might consider used from the CF C4 Parts Section or maybe MirRock or another vendor. If buying used I'd try to buy one with the lock cylinder included. The 'wavy' W retainer is a very hard find. Buying used would give you likely a second if you dropped/lost yours.

I don't see anything broken except the clip.
