Default outer window sweeps

Hello, I have a 1994 Corvette base model that I am having issues with a replacement part.
I replaced the drivers side outer lower window molding/sweep (actually I purchased both sides but only installed the drivers side).
The install went smoothly but, upon rolling the window up and down I noticed a strange sticky smear on the out side of the window.
Upon inspection I discovered the inner felt strip is only attached at either end with rivets but the center is glued on.
When the window is rolled down the felt rolls up in the center and visa versa on rolling the window up, leaving a sticky smear of adhesive on the window surface.
I contacted the seller and they sent out a new one but upon inspection it has the same flaw.
The seller refunded my money but now I am searching for a better replacement.

I bought these from a corvette specialty parts and accessories shop. I also contacted a different seller but they couldn't tell me if their part has the felt attached in the same way.

Does anyone one have a source for a better part?

Thank you

Its been a long time ago I ran into the same problem.
I removed the felt and sticky stuff. Using the "loop" side of some velcro I had laying around rewrapped the guide.
Worked!

Mine is older, but I drilled a hole in the middle and riveted it to the door.

I thought of doing that but the edges appear to still roll up when the window moves..

Won't solve your problem but I found Mr Clean white pads remove everything off the windows... bugs, grease, wax, film...squeaky clean.

Get rid of the cheap sweeps and get a quality product that uses pop rivets all the way across like the factory used.

Yes that is what I am looking to do, the ones I purchased were from a Corvette specialty parts and accessories shop. I am looking for better quality part than the ones I purchased.
I have called several corvette parts houses and none can tell me how the felt pad is attached.

Just had mine replaced with these ones from Davies Corvette, excellent quality! . You have to get the pop rivets separately for $2.00
