Default Convertibe hardtop installation

Hello Friends,

I recently bought a hardtop for my 94 roadster and had it painted to match. I am having trouble installing it. I can't quite get the bolts to thread into the windshield frame. Can anyone help? All the other bolts are fine, but none of them are fastened as the instructions in the manual say to do the windshield bolts first. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you kindly,
Greg

Are you applying upward pressure as you try to tighten?.

Park on the most level surface you can find (it's a C4 convertible, it will flex). I usually have all the bolts in place but not tight before I move to the front. When you get to the front, then as Green Hornet advises, upward pressure on each front bolt until it catches. You can also have someone outside of the car push down on the top while you sit inside and push up while turning the bolt.

I’ve found that I have to re-tighten the front bolts every so often. The top will start squeaking & that lets me know the bolts are loosing up. Anybody know how they work themselves loose?
