Cabin Filter??

Reposting in General Discussion from Tech.....
Hello all. Had to pull my dash plastics this weekend to swap some burned out light bulbs. Later in the afternoon the sun was just at the right angle to shine in thru the dash vent's. I never noticed this before. Looks like a clogged filter to me. Is this the cabin filter, and if so, is there another way to get to it to change? Can it even be changed or just vacuum it out. I'm thinking if I went to vacuum it out, it would just disintegrate. This would probably explain the lousy air flow and how dusty the car is.

there is no cabin filter in a C4 what you are seeing is cracked rubber or foam for insulation and or the seal to a door inside the box

wvzr1 would likely know better but my understanding is your photos is showing part of the foam/vinyl sound attenuation wrap, not an air filter.

i do not believe that the early c4's have one.

i am on my third and ive not dound one.

though, i know ive read about some people installing somewhere but cannot recall where.

No C4 or C5 had a cabin air filter it took GM 25 years to catch up to BMW and put one in C6.

Aftermarket you had the crappy foam that went at the base of the windshield.
