Would like to see pics of the wrapped plastics!

New throttle cable? Maybe the throttle body linkage itself?

1. Finish a complete overhaul of the Dana 44 I purchased. New bearings, seals, posi-clutches, batwing bushings etc. I am going to stick the ends of the stub shafts in EvapoRust, then paint them. I will finish cleaning the case and batwing down to bright metal, then they will get painted with Eastwood's bare metal clear. Might wait till spring to paint.

I tried to find new stub shafts, but there are none out there and if I do find a pair, they are probably going to be expensive. It doesn't need them, but since I am doing the car to a particular level of finish, I would have liked to have them.

I will be finishing cleaning the C-beam, drive and halfshafts and painting them with the clear also. They will get new u-joints installed.

2. Put in the Banski rear suspension, new Bilsteins and sway bar bushings. I also have the Banski pin top shock mounts. 36 years ago I made a similar set out of Teflon and stainless for the '65 I had. Needless to say, they work great.

https://www.banskimotorsports.com/pi...ck-mounts.html

3. I too have to fix the HVAC issue. Same old 1996 issue as discussed above.

4. Then in the spring, the real fun begins. I have a set of Del-alum front bushings to install along with the new shocks up front and maybe new wheel bearings. There is a vibration in the front end. I have a feeling sitting for 10 yrs may have hurt the bearings.

After this the engine gets worked on. If I decide to put in a stroker crank, I can get away with a simple hone, the engine (actually car) is low mileage. I have a set of heads to send to LLoyd Elliot to have ported and 2.00 valves put in. I have 1.6 RR, a Hot Cam, headers, new timing chain, new Opti, MSD 6AL box, coil and wires. After I sell a couple more of my other toys, (hunting is no longer viable when you can't walk well) I am getting a set of 30lb Bosch 3's.

It might take me all winter, spring and summer, but when it is done, it will be a reasonably lively cruising machine. I am building it for the long drives in the country, and overall driving pleasure. I bought a 3.07 D44 to stay with the current 3.07 ratio (the D36 will get sold). 3.07's are great for driving. I have no plans for any kind of racing with it, so they are fine.
Very ambitious... I like it!

I found a C4 race car full widebody made by ACP that I thought would make for a cool Fall/Winter body swap project on the 85. Unfortunately, the seller says it’s a package deal with the home made race car chassis so it was a bust. Was hoping I could score the body.

So with that top tier pipe dream squelched, I’ll instead get the 85 actually running again. Totally neglected the car since getting a Z.

I bought the Quickjack 5000SLX. $1365 including shipping.

I put it together yesterday but did not have time to lift car and take a picture. Too many interruptions.

I will replace all the vacuum lines this winter, I've heard that is a fun job. If that goes well, I might also replace the power steering high pressure line, heard that is equally fun.

My plans for the '95 are:
- Fix loose door panels (repair top support cracks)
- Buy and install new Targa weatherstrip
- Find and repair minor exhaust leaks
- Figure out minor throttle 'sticking above idle' issue
- Dream about installing a short shifter from ZFdoc

I know I won't get to most of these items, but you need to set goals in order to accomplish anything...

I would address the sticking throttle above all the others.... Ive done the targa weatherstrip, and it can be a pain in the butt... Just be sure to get all the old stuff out before installing the new stripping. The shifter can be done in your garage. Two people makes the job easier.
