It might be the temperature. On my dad's Z71 Tahoe and my mom's Suburban when it gets really hot (that is, Texas heat) sometimes the locks won't unlock all the way and they must be undone manually from the inside. Also, sometimes when it gets really hot the rear passenger door on the Suburban won't shut. Like the latch on the door doesn't click back all the way. It's rather strange. Could this be the culprit? It's fall and if you live in a hot climate the sudden temperature change might have caused it. Just a guess. Hope everything works out.
Both doors went nuts. Amy opened the drivers door to trigger the rear hatch, and the actual door mechanism went up into a lock position not allowing the door to close. I opened the passenger door to get a visual of an "ok" lock and that one did the same thing  Weird.
Anyway, I found that there is a pawl up above the rotating mechanism that locks them in place. By using a screwdriver I was able to move that spring loaded pawl up and rotate the actual lock portion down. They both work fine now.
What's unexplained is why and what caused it to happen to begin with? Halloween spooks?
