I am partial to the C4 Convertibles...especially the Dark colors with a Camel Top and interior.
1988 C4 Convertible with BBS Rims
My first one was this Black '88 with a Lingenfelter 450 Horse 383
'94 Polo Green Metallic
...and after a 25 year break from Corvettes...spent most of that playing with Formula, Donzi and Cigarette Off Shore Power Boats...I was drawn to this one.

Well the Lingenfelter ZR1 with Aerobody is almost God, next to the Sledgehammer C4.
But in everyday look, I would say a clean C4 (no wings/kits), lowered to clear up gaps (not slammed per say), light or no tint, Fikse FM5 or ZR1 wheels with Corsa/B&B tips visible in the rear such as the look from WydGlydJim Vette:

C5 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
Of all the Corvettes I've owned, my three ZR-1's were the most enjoyable. Probably had the most fun in my 90, as I modified it inside and out, front to back.
My 90 ZR-1
My 1991 Callaway Aerobody ZR-1, the one I miss the most
My 1994 ZR-1, probably the last one I'll own

You inspired me to try something :
Just playing around with ideas.
I know it won't be everybody's cup of tea. I like it though. Makes it distinct and it's period correct.

The previous owner had resprayed the car in the early 90s. When he did that he added pinstripes on the body. I love it because with the metallic flake you either see it or don't. Low sun makes it pop, high sun makes it invisible. Seeing regular black ones just doesn't look right to me lol. I thought it was a very nice, period correct touch.

I have a thing for the pre 1991 shape. I think it's starting to look like a classic, as the post 1991 is still semi modern. I like that the pre 1991 cars have a more Italian influence. Corvette was born from Italian influence. The side vents on the pre 1991 is pure Ferrari. Ditto with the round tail lights. The whole shape is more edgy and chunky and less 90's smoothed out. So it's more classic car material these days. The post 1991 C4s still need another 10 years to get there. It suffers from the same problems the C5 does, but to a MUCH lesser degree. The C5 screams 90s and the 90s were just not that long ago enough yet.
BUT! Sometimes I love how futuristic the post 1991 cars still look. So slick, just as sexy really. I used to think if it's red I would want a pre 1991. Black or another slick color I would want a post 1991. That was before I saw MatthewMiller's red post 1991 C4. It looks fantastic! I think I know what it is. The smoked front light covers make the post 1991 cars look futuristic and less sporty, while the pre 1991 are pure sport. But MatthewMiller seem to have taken the smoked lenses off of his red C4 or something and it brought the car to the sporty side. I'm not sure you can understand what I mean by sport vs futuristic. Of course both are sport. But I hope you understand where I'm coming from.
