Default The ultimate Corvette?

I would like to start a discussion, just for fun about your ultimate Corvette, style wise.
I know many may say their ultimate Corvette is the one they already have, may that be a C4 or whatever. So I guess this thread is not for them then.

The idea is to basically choose your favorite parts among the modern era Corvettes to make your all time favorite or ultimate Corvette.

I'm asking it over here at the C4 forum because I'm mostly interested to see it from the perspective of C4 owners. And also to try avoiding the people who only have eyes for the current stuff to just keep saying C7 for everything, because they can't appreciate older Corvettes.

To me it goes like this:

Best front end: C7. This is IMO the best feature of the C7. In second is the C4, because, well, pop ups. And because the C6 has the goofiest front end with the smiley face. The C7 front end looks good even on the C6. I have seen some C6s converted to C7 front end and it improves the looks dramatically.

Best rear end: C6! Bar none. It's basically a modernized version of the pre facelift C4 rear end, which would come at a very close second. Really love the early C4 rear end. But the C6 is more curvy. This is why a C6 looks great in any pictures taken from the rear. Worse would probably be the C5 rear end. The C7 is also not my favorite. Looks like a Camaro with a body kit.

Best side view: C4! It has the best silhouette IMO. The C6 looks a bit stubby from the side. The C7 looks too large from the side. C5 is a weird mix of stretched out and a big rear end. C4 takes it easily here IMO. But second would be the C6 for me.

Best overall proportions: C4 again, specifically the pre facelift cars. It looks just right and in the right size. Rear and front proportions match just right. C7 looks more like a GT instead of a sports car. C5's proportions are messed up, most likely by the huge rear end. C6 is good and much more sports car proportioned than the C7. But not as well proportioned as the C4. C6 looks a bit chubby from some angle. But C6 is second.

Best interior: Either C4 or C7. A bit unfair to compare because the interior is where the technology change shows the most. But the C7 interior is very reminiscent from the C4. The C7 made the Corvette interior special again. The C5 and C6 had pretty blend dashes.

This is it for me. I left out the C1, C2 and C3 because the styles change is too severe. They are classic shaped. I'm sure many would vote for the split window 63. But keeping it in the modern era blends better. So lets start from the C4 and up.

Obviously if we just snapped the different parts together to make a Frankenstein car it wouldn't look good. This is not the point here. The point is just to have a friendly and relaxed conversion among fans of the car.

What's your ultimate Corvette made of`?

The car to look like this

Tube chassis
Coil overs
Sequential gear box
Latest Ls7
Twin screw
3.55-3.73 gears
Stockish interior would be fine
Radio delete

I guess I'm just not that in to stock.

At the least a C2 with my parts in it would suffice for now.

Not sure how to react. Did I write so much as to discourage people from reading the OP?

c1-2 for sure, maybe early C3. Would be pretty far from stock thats for sure
Early ones make killer drag cars esp straight axles. Was never one for a bunch of creature comforts, thats just more stuff to fix.
Those are real vettes, I suppose some C3s too. C4s are cheap fun, C5-up never spoke to me...like the C5z but hate thier electronics.

OK, I guess people are officially missing the point, or as the English say, taking the ****.

1. C1, C2 and C3 are OUT of consideration. Otherwise we will only have the cliches.

2. Not about choosing a single car or generation but rather your favorite parts from C4, C5, C6, C7 to make up your ultimate Corvette.

3. If your ultimate Corvette is made up of parts of a single existing generation, then there is not much point and as I mentioned in the OP, the thread is not for you. Or maybe you follow the rules of the game and play along and make up your "second" favorite Corvette, just for fun.

Why?

How can a question based on an abstract thing be actually dumb? It's not rocket science.

Most likely why you're not getting lots of responses. And nothing beats the lines of a early model L88 C3.

Fine, I'll play along if I can't just have the grey '09 Z.

C4 Zr1
C4 GS paint
Ls9
C6 brakes
C5 T56
C6 Z steering wheel just as a conversation piece.

The cleanness of a C4 takes it for me, it is close to timeless. I really like the look of a C7, but as time goes on I think it will look like just another styling exercise.
On interiors, like the OP, I like C4 (91 - 94) and C7.

I'd take "the frame" of a C5^, and combine it with a C4. Add some C5^ brakes and an LS7 hooked to the C4's ZF6. There. That's my combo.

If I win the lotto...maybe the latest C2 roadster on an '89 C4 chassis with "worked" engine, 6-speed, candy-apple, white top & interior.
