That looks like the bolt that holds up the spare tire tray. Glad nobody was hurt, that is very nasty.

OP - were you able to retrieve the wheel? Is it an OE/GM wheel or a reproduction done by 'other than OE/GM' An inexpensive cast wheel I'd think a difficult fix.
Its a replica from OEWheels. And I did manage to retrieve it, but its just sitting there taking up space now.

Man that sucks, and is pretty dangerous.

I once time had a spark plug get one of my tires but this is worse than that.

That's THE BIGGEST bolt I've seen someone get a flat with - almost looks like the OEM rear spring bolt, I know it isn't but damn

I was literally a few blocks away from home at the time.. but I did limp back to the garage with that bolt in the wheel and tire. That made the hole in the wheel bigger than when it first went through.

lol I know right? Never saw one this big myself either. (thats what she said)

If you look at the head of the bolt it is shaped like a bullet. Im sure this helped it pierce the wheel.

Wow. I've seen a "tread retaining screw" cause problems. That's the first time I've seen a "tire retaining bolt" through the tire tread and the wheel. We should maybe start calling you "LuckyAgentEran"

Had a car counter in a parking lot puncture the engine case on a new Harley back in 2008. That is the closest I have come.

Thank goodness no. But speaking of brakes, I went from Hawk HPS to Power Stop Z26 and I have to admit I like the Power Stops more. Drove it yesterday and everything felt good and right, except of the TCC slippage Im getting after 54mph.

Going to have to address this soon.

I think its from street construction thats happening on the street where I ran it over. They have some backhoe and other heavy equipment there that they are using to dig and whatnot.
