Okay so I made a post somewhere else before and got some conflicting info. I have a 93 auto. I need to replace the shift cable. at 1st attempt using info. from another source that said I did not need to remove the side of the center console for access to the through floor plate to remove old cable. I removed radio and shifter bezel only to find there is no access to that through floor bracket. it was solid plastic and below that was BCM. so I apparently must remove side of console. what is the process for this? I am told screws are under glued carpet. if you have done this and can pass on some info. it will be greatly appreciated. PS I do also need to remove my instrument cluster to replace LCD power plug. I saw a video a guy said you need to lower steering column to get cluster out? true?
Supposedly the cluster can stay. The console and center of IP need to come apart. Derm and bracket appear to sit over pass through. Looks like one large PITA. Because of the amount of disassembly manual would be very handy.
