My 1992 c4 is having some issues. Will turnover and will start but wont run for every long. Has a very bad idle at first but now just not running good at all. Fuel pump is fine but i think its a clogged fuel filter. Also there is smoke from the headers when turning on. Maybe something got into the exhaust and plugged the exhaust to slow the air from exiting the engine. what do you guys think. (video below)
Agreed. Changing the fuel filter is prolly a good idea. That alone may be all that is necessary. Disconnect the vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator. If here is fuel in the line, replace the regulator or at least the diaphragm.
Completing the fuel delivery system verification would involve a leak-down test and a dynamic fuel pressure test; both easily done with the aide of a fuel pressure gauge and perhaps an extension hose (allowing the pressure gauge to be taped to the windshield while driving.). But, that is another question from what you've described.
