1990 6 SPD "C" torque beam
Is there some type of sealant betwwen the the torque beam and the mounting faces of the transmission and rear axle? If so what is it so that I can reapply it during reassembly. Thanks

Some have used Liquid Nails.

When I had be c beam out years ago I didn’t use anything in reinstall. No adverse effects that I can see/feel but curious to see what you find and what others think. I’ll have the C beam out again in the next 1-2 years and want to know what you use...

You could use BLUE LOCTITE on those mating surfaces.
However, installing Bill Boudreau's C-beam plates is the better solution BY FAR!!! Even if all they did was make installing and adjusting easier, they're worth ever penny!
Bill (ZFdoc.com) also provides the slugs of appropriate length to properly center the tail shaft before tightening the 4 bolts clamping the C-beam in place..
