Default Mystery wire...please help

Looking under the dash at hood release area. Just replaced the broken handle and now Rear Hatch Console Button won't work. Could this connector have anything to do with that? Electrical problems are a very weak area for me.

Is your car missing the "hush panel" that fits in this area under the steering column? That looks like the connector for the light in the "hush panel".
