Not sure what you're selling with your posts. All see are pictures with a faster car (not top end) on top in each comparison. lol
Why does every C4 have the stance of a 4x4 truck?
No wrong answer. Both are great cars. If it's my money I would buy a ZR1 because I have other vehicles and the ZR1 would be just another toy. The Mustang would be a good car to have to live daily with though.

Finalist 2020 C4 of the Year - Unmodified
C4 of Year Finalist (stock) 2019
I kinda felt that way about the '02 Camaro...but my analogy was to that of a bug-eyed carp.
I'd opt for a brand spanking new C4. It would be the same car I have now (an early iron head)...except I would add with the dual roof panels.

I'd choose a new 95 ZR1. The new muts are fast, but ugly and sound terrible. Or, I'd take a new mut, sell it and get something I actually want.

Sure does, it says "I'm ugly to you but as I am nice I will just leave you and your C4 so far behind you have to look at me." jk LOL

In 1988 I bought a new Fox body 5.0 5 speed hatchback as my daily driver. At that time my nicely optioned Mustang was less then $16,000 while the same year C-4 would have set me back almost twice as much. Even after retiring it from a daily driver I kept it as a fun car. Now if I could have bought a 88 C-4 for the same price as my Mustang I might have been tempted, but at that time I had a baby daughter and needed a rear seat. Plus I want to add that that Mustang could keep up with the C-4.
What you are asking is an apples vs. orange scenario so in my mind can never be realistically answered. I bought the 91 C-4 last October because I was really missing my Fox ever since it was totaled while parked in 2009 and really wanted another fun car. BTW, it had 213,000 miles then and was still a blast to drive.

I went from several Camaro's to a 99 LS1 Formula to a 07 Mustang GT. I loved all my cars but the Mustang had the most issues (peeling door inserts, chipped paint, broken in half spark plugs, flooding passenger foot well, ect). I was looking for a 2010-2012 Camaro SS or 2011-2012 Mustang GT when I came across a 95 M6 Corvette in excellent condition for nearly a quarter of the price the cars I had been looking at. The price was so appealing but so was the manual transmission and removable targa top. Now I am so glad I bought the car. It has been a blast to drive especially with the top off and windows down. When I upgrade it will definately be for either a C6 or C7 Corvette. No way I am going back to a Camaro or Mustang now.
So all that said, the choice would be an easy one for me. 1995 ZR1 without a doubt and I would enjoy it thoroughly!

Its all good... I had to check the specs just to satisfy my curiosity. I realize 1 second is huge in drag racing, but its pretty remarkable to see just how awesome the ZR-1 was for its time...

Id buy the stang. New with warranty. 12 sec ride hard to say no.
Know 2 guys on this forum that have done it and have 0 regrets.
Never lift the hood, turn the key without worry and enjoy it. Working on stuff gets old.
Couldnt bring myself to pay that kind of money for a 14 sec car. The C4 has its charm but still....
Had too many cars that looked fast and werent

I saw a few folks write about the different times of the two cars ,years apart. I find it interesting that my brothers 61 fuelie vette , back in 66. turned close to what my 86 coupe runs today and my vette is an auto. I would always but the vette over the stang as I rrally like the vett. And, to top it off. the 61 had a 283, not a 350.

If I wanted a brand new 2018-2019 Mustang I would buy one ..... since I own an 89 C4 corvette, and 6 other cars, but no Mustang ..... that is your answer.

C4 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
I could afford to buy a new Mustang any time I want ........ but I choose my 95 C4 every weekend. To me it's still a better looking car and there is nothing else like sitting in the cockpit of a C4. So I just keep letting the money build up and keep smiling and driving my C4.

Same ol' Mustang vs. Corvette rivalry - been going on for EVER, I guess. But, my favorite experience was an impromptu Mustang challenge during one of the cruises organized by the NCM at a C4 gathering.
At a pit stop along the Roller Coaster tour, a Mustang owner pulled into the parking lot (filled with C4s) and immediately started talking smack. As it happened, Jim ("Jingles)" Ingals (sp?), the performance test engineer at Corvette at the time, was leading the C4 caravan over one of his favorite twisty roads. So, Jim accepted the challenge - told Mr. Mustang dude to follow him and try to keep up! The dude accepted and lined up behind Jim with the rest of the group behind the Mustang, to witness the "contest".
Within a mile, Jim was out of sight ahead of the Mustang which, btw, had most of the entire C4 group on his bumper! But, when it was clear he wasn't going to keep up with Jim, Mr Mustang turned off the road and slunk away (presumably to administer to his bruised ego. LOL!).
I'd keep my 90 ZR-1, thank you! It thrills me still, it is unique, and the stock idle makes it a total "sleeper" until she is unleashed! It surprises A LOT of people who didn't see the badge on the rear bumper!

An actual road race track? My money, stock for stock, is still in the new Mustang. It handles as good as any C4 and say the C4 can marginally better it in the curves 460 hp is going to leave any C4 when the power is put down for the straights.
Not sure why people don't respect the handling ability of the new Mustang. Is it denial or just the idea that a Mustang can't handle well?
I completely believe your post regarding the C4, especially if it was a Fox Body vs a C4, no contest stock for stock, but a new Mustang GT with the handling package would be completely different. That being said, the driver plays a huge part.
Still, 1990 ZR1 would be in my garage. Black on black, please.
