I hate seeing cars like this

Funny thing is that while I hate seeing a C4 in that kind of condition, the price he is asking makes me feel better about the $3500 I paid for my 88 Vert in much better condition. Some may disagree but I think I stole mine.

I've seen worse. fact of the matter - doesn't look all that bad. just shows signs of neglect - a lot of neglect. I've seen folks here doing outstanding work bringing some of these cars back from the dead, and this one's not even that dead. $4200 OBO may be a bit high, but who knows what will really buy this car.

I don't think anyone disagrees. You stole it. You must live right!

Whenever I see a car in this shape, makes me realize there was probably a time when someone had a big smile on their face driving the car off the lot brand new!

Jump forward to now and it's me wondering if I should buy back an old car. I was driving along and saw my 54 Belair. I built it as restomod. All new drive train to replace the inline 6 and 2 speed powerglide.
It's sitting under a lean to carport on an old shed nearby.

Years ago I had a friend, he was around 20 years older. When he graduated college he bought a new 1966 Mustang convertible. Then he got married, a family came along so he sold it. Then around 88 he sees a rusting hunk of a mustang siting on the side of the road. He stops to look and realizes it is HIS car. Rather than feel sad to see it in such rusted out shape, he buys it and restores it to original and gives it to his daughter.

That’s a cool story. You should buy your old car back. I don’t remember the last time I seen a 54 at a cruise night. There are a couple cars that I owned that I would buy back if I found them.
