I've been trying to find little projects to keep me busy until I can afford the big ones, LOL. So this evening I decided to put new grill cloth on my speaker grills. I will be putting in a completely new stereo system and nothing Factory will remain. I could not very well put in different speakers yet still have the Bose logo on my speaker grills. I think with a little patience, some spray adhesive, some Grill cloth, this job is not that hard to do and the results look awesome. The finished product.
If you really want to create a better base for a nice soundstage, you should also consider putting speakers in the dash. I removed and modified the blanks and now have MB Quart 5 1/4 components with tweeters up there. The results were amazing and made a huge difference since I have a Vert. I also used a set of MB Quart 6" speakers in the doors, and a pair of RF Punch 6x9's in the rear with a RF 400.4 amp pushing all 6 speakers. The front channel is running 100 watts at 2ohms and the rear 50 watts at 4ohms.
What cloth did you use? Are you just running bass in the doors with the mids and highs going to the dash speakers? I've been thinking of doing that with mine.

I just ordered black speaker grill cloth from ebay. As for sound I will be doing an Alpine 6.5" component set in the front doors with the tweeter mounted in the door handle inserts. I will post pics of those when I get home tonight. I will be doing Alpine 6x9 speakers in the rear. And I will be doing a custom install of a Kenwood double din head unit in the dash so I can run a rear view camera and I will have a camera mounted to the front lip as well.

Here is a pic showing my door handle insert with the Tweeter Mount already in it. It's nice and small and doesn't look too big. Now of course with all of these interior parts I need to stuff them with a Scotch-Brite pad and then I will be spraying everything with sem Landau black color coat and everything will look brand new.
