Remove the plastic trim that surrounds the latch mechanism.

I don't remember your other thread about this subject but I may be able to shed some light on the non-responses. As of late, there have been many trolling threads started asking mundane questions. Questions that have an obvious answer. Some MAY have viewed your question as such. To elaborate, your hatch has one piece of glass, two hinges and a latch. If we put our thinking caps on, where might we find the latch release solenoid? Much like if your headlight doors are not opening. "Where would we find the headlight door actuators". Most questions like this are by "one and done" posters. Viewers might not have noticed you are not new.

Also, your question hass probably been answered a few dozen times since this forum was created. You could have found the answer by now using the search function.

Your original post was on July 16. Now you post again on July 18 because you expected an immediate answer? Do you think we're all asleep, or something?

A member that lives in another country may see this thread & need my item if so then the Con US shipping disclosure eliminates international shipping.
Your information only applies if shipping PO Priority Mail it is then the same cost to ship to US & possessions. You can check the other PO shipping options & cost @ www.USPS.com.
I may need or want to use FedEx or UPS to ship an item if I include the shipping charges with the item cost then Con US is stipulated.

OK, I'll post, but to what? 80% of the replies have nothing what so ever to do with my question. Rather they deal with the idea that I am surprised by the fact that 95 people viewed the post and no one took the time to respond. That tells me 1 of 2 things..1) 95 people don't know where the solenoid is...or 2) 95 people don't care to take the time to respond, unfortunate.
When I joined this Forum I thought it would be a good place to get help on my car, evidently not always true.

As to the number of posts.... I couldn't care less how many I have. All I want is to get my car running.
Frank
EDIT: I can understand people not responding if they devote all their time to pursuing silliness like this

As a novice gutting his whole car, I'll have to be careful about the (mundane) questions I post ....maybe it's the heat.....

Well Frank, thats the basic situation today. Most of these guys have no clue of what your talking about. Send me your address via PM and I'll send you a CD ot the FSM. I'd also suggest you spend some quality time using the advanced option of the search engine. There are almost three decades of information to find answers on questions like yours. With a little practice you can sift out the bulls&*t answers and find real help when you need it. Rather than getting frustrated or wasting time waiting for an answer. Theres still a few real experienced guys like Corvetteronw that have been around here and can nail it in one post.

So now I am curious. Now that you have had some time to think about your posed question, are you still in the dark as to where the latch release solenoid would be if it is to release the latch that is on the back center under the glass?
