Default 1996 Error Code p0719

My 1996 Automatic has the check engine light on and when I check the codes I get p0719 "Brake Switch B Circuit Low".

The normal symptoms of this code appear to be the brake lights not working and/or the car stalling, but the brake lights work fine and the car has not stalled. Any one have any idea what this could be? Is it a common problem?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

My favorite site for codes. Gives a general idea of the logic behind the code:

https://www.obd-codes.com/p0719

Could be a few things from fuses to wiring:

Defective brake switch
Misadjusted brake switch
Shorted or open wiring and/or connectors in the brake switch circuit designated as B
Blown fuse or burnt fusible link
Faulty PCM
PCM programming error

If it drives fine I would assume that its not a PCM issue but most likely something with the brake switch itself, the connector, or the wiring in the harness.

Default Problem Fixed

I just wanted to update the thread. There ended up being a loose wire in the brake switch by the pedal. A local shop fixed it for cheap.
