I don't believe companies make defective parts on purpose. The OEM sensors were pretty good often replaced during the " guessing with money " diagnostic process. Reman with longest warranty and locally available. How confident in your diagnosis?

I bought a reman from Autozone off their ebay store.
I’ve had 3 bad Spectra MAF from Oreilys so I ended up ordering a Delphi from Rockauto which will be delivered tomorrow so I’ll know soon. Spectra tested out of spec with each one.
Have no idea who actually makes it but at $83 I figured I'd give it a shot. At 18 months it is working fine. The installation was plug and play and I actually noticed a faster start and smoother idle. Still the same after about 5000 miles.
I was having a recurring MAF burnoff error code that I could not clear which is why I bought this one. It did not fix the issue. I ended up buying a new eProm chip to get rid of the burnoff routine altogether.

Same for me. Few replacement MAFs, at reasonable prices, support the burn circuit. They work fine, but with code 33 active (ie "Sevice Now" lit), the ECM is running by defaults, not adjusting for current engine data as it should. Not good long term.
From the pictures the Delphi internally looks identical to the original one I'm replacing. The Spectra internally looks nothing like the original. Should be on my porch when I get home.
Yes, exactly. Instead of a thin circle of wire like the Bosch, it appears to be two short wire lengths with some kind of bulb on each. And the heat sink is the same too.
I'm glad you brought this up. I had to pull the thing to have a look so I took the opportunity to spray some MAF cleaner on the bulbs and some carb cleaner down the throttle body. Since this different design has no burn off function, the spraying may not be necessary. Don't know.
Yeah I put it on and the original problem of it cutting out went away but it runs rough now. Seems to idle better but under heavy exhilaration it kinda sputters. But that mite just be based gas from it sitting for a few months.
I ordered the eProm from PCM of NC. It's a daughter board with the burn off routine eliminated. I also had them turn off the VATS code as well. I had to take apart the ECM box to get the new daughterboard and the original eProm installed, it's too tight otherwise. Car runs like new.
Well see my first problem was my car run ok as long as you stayed under half throttle. If you go above it will start to stutter. And if you punched it would just cut out and fall on its face then go to stuttering. If changed everything but the dang injectors and ecm. And I drove it to work today and it's still doing it.
Are the catalytic converters original? The two small ones on mine fell apart and dumped into the middle one. Car behaved a bit like yours. Do you hear a rattling sound like rocks in a can? I got a muffler shop to just gut the center one too and it sounds better.
