I recently purchased a 93 C4 for $500. It is a red coupe one owner with 230k on it.
Was in storage for a year or so, got out of storage and now it won't run. I am pretty sure the
Optispark is not providing spark. It is pretty good shape considering the mileage. I am wondering if this
is a candidate for an LS Swap? I know everybody is going this way, just checking for options?
No spark has to be diagnosed vs guessing. 200k + miles would make it a canidate for repowering. LS swap, I would plan transmission change if A4. LS uses electric shift 4l60e. 93 last year of cable shift 700r4 ( 4l60). There's alot of information out there. 500 dollar corvette should be a deal. You should do or have a through inspection to see what you have. Granted not running still leaves some question marks

Thanks! It was running, luckily it stopped right in front of the garage. I will run the checks before changing parts.
Looks like a fantastic buy for $500 Hell it even shines real nice. Usually at that price the paint is not worth saving so you are way ahead no matter what you have to do to it.
I think the old C-4s are 57 hot rods Chevy's of yesterday . Cheap , parts easy to get and very available they handle great the brakes not bad either easy to upgrade them as well and not bad looking ride either . Cheap hot rod , was looking to build a old Camaro a few years back $6-$10,000 just for an old body to me building a C-4 hot rod no brainer . I have a friend building a 72 Camaro when he gets through he will have a $30.000 C-4 Corvette . I told hem go buy old C-4 and you will be way ahead ,4-wheel disk brakes great handling . I just brought a 93 last year auto is a fun ride and was not going to make a hot rod out of it but is way to challenging not to .. Ls in a C-4 go for it .
If people worried about money in a hot rod where would not be any .. Well their are rod builders and you know if you are one . If I had all the money I have lost in building cars I would be a bazillion air . Building a rod out anything and having fun in it is priceless and if one has to EXplain it well your not rod builder .. Sorry ..
