Flashy e brake light

I have a problem on my 91 c4, for some reason the red signal light that comes on when your e brake is pulled is flashing randomly. Any ideas what faulty? No new stuff has been messed with that would cause this.

You probably have a problem with the contact in your E-Brake handle. You may have to take it apart, clean the contact points and reassemble.
