My '88 got to 250 on i4(florida) so installed new aluminum 2row radiator from JEGS. Finished it today and took for a spin ran around 220-226when stopped dropped to 198-206 when moving. I was happy until I shut it off and had steam coming from under hood...Coolant is leaking from ?? on to catalytic converter and causing steam..My question is what is that far back for coolant to leak from ??
don't have a lift only a floor jack in a one car garage ,not a lot of room...
Depending on how long you ran it for at 250 degrees there is a chance you may have warped the head slightly. Look closely around where the head mates to the block to see if you can detect a leak. Also check your dipstick to see if you have any contamination from coolant draining onto the oil pan. It should look like nice clean oil and not contaminated in any way.

You mentioned you just got done with a drive so be aware that any coolant leak could "blow" back from under the engine and hit the Cat.
Since you just replaced the radiator, I'd first start by double checking all of your hose connections. I bet that one is a bit loose and under the pressure of highway speeds, is spraying a bit.
checked oil clean as a whistle as is the tranny fluid.
Jacked it up and ran up to temp.until thermostate opened and it started leaking..best I can tell its coming from right rear of block maybe above header..
Think I'm going to have it towed to shop see if they can find it
Thanks for the response and Info. Have a Great Weekend
