Im not saying this could be your problem but I just got my Olds 88 1990 back from paint and had the first check engine light
since I fixed it and have come to the conclusion they unhooked my battery and left the terminals loose.
Gotta check everything I guess.

Check the HVAC error codes on the display. Push the Up and Down arrows at the same time then press the Auto button. If there are faults stored, codes will be displayed on the LCD panel of the control unit.

If i remember correctly from doing mine .. That is a code for for a bus communication error between programmer and control head. As said before .. Try checking batt cables .. On mine ,,i disconnected batt for 10 min with fuse out .. Put fuse in,,reconnected batt and all good
