Default 85 lost keys

I am buying a 85 coupe automatic and the owner has lost the keys. he said it didn't run when moved to this location. He think the fuel pump is bad. and they haven't seen the keys for years
I don't know if I can move the car to load on a trailer with out a key to unlock the steering and transmission out of park.
Is there any way to get a key made off the vin # or can a locksmith unlock it?

The dealer or some locksmiths can cut a key with proof of ownership.

Is there a way to get the ignition lock assembly out of the steering column without having the correct key for the lock cylinder?

No. I'm thinking about the last two times I've disassembled my '84 column, and the last time I disassembled a '94 Pontiac column, and what's shown in my FSM:

Bought a 1985 Fiero from a junkyard over 20 years ago. Pretty sure it did not have keys. The lock cylinder came out easily after possibly destroying the key buzzer and removing the screw. Wasn’t difficult, I just remember that I couldn’t get the buzzer to work again. Maybe that’s why it needs to be in the run position?

Odds of getting key codes very slim. Sometimes they were written in the manuals or owners packet. Door cylinder canbe taken apart and key made and reassembled. locksmith or dealer. Ignition cylinder will have to be replaced.
