Hi can anyone help with this sensor problem on the radiator header tank, its the sensor below the remote tank on the RHs of the engine bay, looks like there was a botch job on it previously, What does this sensor do, Can it be replaced ? Header Tank Removed This is the sensor, one pin corroded missing Side view of Sensor All of sensor removed from tank View of tank with sensor removed
I believe it just turns on the low coolant warning light. I didn't know it could be removed. I just changed my tank a few weeks ago, and the new tank came with the sensor. Being a pack rat I looked at removing the sensor from the old tank, but it appeared to be molded in place.
You have an odd looking radiator cap as well, not the original?
I realize this may not be helpful given what your shipping costs might be, but the tank bought from Rock Auto (AC Delco 10157994) was an exact match for the original. Made in USA by the same manufacturer, absolute perfect match and $63.00
Hi thanks for the reply, I've been looking at the same, I need to replace the sender connector as well, if I can buy the sensor on its own ill buy the tank, although I still need the connector from the harness as well.
