Is there a fuel alert when it gets too low?
on my 96 is there supposed to be a light or an alert chime when the fuel gets too low? That would be a nice feature.

It says "reserve"... cant remember if thats 1 bar or 2 bars.

When RESERVE pops up, fill it. Just because the digital displays 35 miles left till empty doesn't mean you can go 5 miles to the gas station. How do I know?????

Warning #1: The "RESERVE" indicator will come on, indicating you're now below 25% fuel.
Warning #2: Hard acceleration will cause the car to buck as fuel sloshes away from the pump pickup.
Warning #3: The fuel range indicator will change from a number to "LO" and the "CHECK GAUGES" light will illuminate, indicating you are about to run out of fuel.

Once the last two bars disappear the dash warning light "CHECK GAUGES" lights up. I think that is a 95 & 96 only feature. I know my 92 didn't have it.

The first and only time I saw the reserve message was when I found out my sending unit was sticking.
I was driving home with a 3/4 tank reading when I cross a railroad track. Suddenly the indicator goes to 2 bars and reserve shows up.
Got home and when I pulled the sending unit I could feel a bind in the arm. Guess it got stuck and the tracks jarred it loose. I replaced the sending unit but now kind off watch the trip odometer as well.
