On my 1984 Corvette went to start the car up got two clicks and then it fired up Ran it for a while and when I parked it give it a couple more tries and start up with no problem the following day started right up day after that got one click and then she fired right up so is this design I’ll be back connection at the starter or does the starter have a flat spot on It or Is the solenoid feeling Hope to hear from someone soon
You need to do some basic troubleshooting. Frist check the battery cable connections at both ends of each cable. Make sure theyre clean, corrsion free and tight. Next check the wire to the solenoid, I think its purple... make sure its clean and tight also. Check your battery static voltage. Needs to be 12.6 engine not running... Start there and report back
Did all the necessary checks on the starter For the start the voltage did read 12.6 with engine off with the engine running the voltage ran around 14.1 to 14.3 next I cleaned the battery connectors on both ends Check the tightness of the boats on the cell annoyed got a little turned on the beach that much lastly took the car on a long run about 50 miles. Stopped various places and it started right up each time probably will have to do it for a couple days to see if the general maintenance paid off if anyone else has any ideas I am all ears

Your starter solenoid is going bad. $20 fix if your handy.
