Is there a higher CFM replacement for the heater/AC blower available for the '84/'86 vette.....I'd like it to give out more air when in use.....anyone else ever tried this, or know which would give more CFM?????
THANKS
TONY

hi,the corvette blower is the same as the 87-90 caprices, you can try a 90 motor and also make sure all of your blend doors are working right.greg84
So no one has answered up..on what would be a higher CFM fan.....So maybe no one really knows....what would be best in a unit that would be a higher CFM fan....
At least I tried....to see if there was one that I could install to get more air into my vette???
thanks

at work we had a few chevy caprices that the blower motor was working like hell but the air flow was not flowing out of the ducts very well.at first we changed the blower motor and that made no differance.to make a long story short it turned out to be the heater core and the accumulator had dust ,dirt and you name it on its fins.after cleaning them both the air flow was great.hope this helps greg84
Tony,
I used to sell aftermarket auto parts. for too many years  , and I'm not sure about the vette blower motor, but almost every gm heater blower has the same "style/shape" housing and the bolt patterns are all nearly identical. If you have a local parts store that you deal with, go in and ask them to pull a vette blower motor and one for a suburban/pick up(1983-1989 for example) with hd heater. Compare the mounting flange as well as the shaft diameter that the blower wheel mounts on, or the diameter of the wheels if they come with it. The suburban/pick up (hd heater) is as far as I know the highest rpm blower motor available for gm vehicles. Remember I've been out of the parts business for 5 years, but this stuff is for years prior to that so it should still be ok! Do not worru about the "vent hole" in the blower motor... they are located in different "clock" positions, but you do not need to use the hose in it if you do not want to! Hope this helps.
